Umuganura Dance Celebration

The Umuganura Dance Celebration is a traditional Rwandan event that commemorates the harvest season and is deeply rooted in the country’s cultural heritage. Umuganura, which translates to “first fruits” in English, is a time of thanksgiving, reflection, and celebration of the bounty that nature has provided.
During the Umuganura Dance Celebration, communities come together to express their gratitude for the harvest through music, dance, and feasting. The event often takes place outdoors in a communal setting, such as a village square or open field, where people gather to partake in the festivities.
Traditional Rwandan dances, characterized by their rhythmic movements and vibrant costumes, are an integral part of the celebration. These dances often tell stories of Rwandan history, daily life, and cultural values. Performers wear traditional attire that includes colorful fabrics, intricately woven designs, and distinct hairstyles.
This time on 05th of August 2023 in Poland Rwandan Community gathered at the ambassador’s residence ((Prof. Shyaka Anastase) in Warsaw on the invitation of Embassy of Rwanda in Poland, to celebrate this event.
Ballet icyeza’s Oustanding Perfomance made the day more memorable and adorable to all the participants.
