Workshop in Zakopane.

During our recent retreat, Ballet Icyeza had the wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop in Krakow, Zakopane where we were introduced to a local dance studio in Zakopane named sokol Zakopane. The experience was both inspiring and enriching, as we got to witness how dance can bring people together and express diversity in unique and creative ways.

Through this exchange, we learnt about the different approaches the studio uses to incorporate culture, identity, and movement into their performances. It reminded us that dance is not just an art form—it’s a universal language that connects communities across borders.

We are excited about the potential to collaborate with this amazing studio in the future and explore how Ballet Icyeza can continue to share our Rwandan heritage while learning from others around the world.
